Some prayers offered by LMC church members

Dear Lord,
thank you for all the love of my family, friends & friends in the church that I only know by sight (you know I forget their names!). As I struggle with terminal cancer, please remind me I am only one of many, and am so blessed because you love me, will never leave me, and will take me to heaven to be with you and all those I love, whose names are written on your hand. Please bless and help all the congregation at LMC who have their own troubles, be it sickness or other problems. You lived amongst us, so know the struggle life can be. Let us feel close to you. Please keep me cheerful to the end, and always think of others first; your will be done. Amen.

Lovely God,
You are our perfect gardener. You patiently nurture, care and tend for us. For all the times we have chosen to grow in our own ways, we are sorry. You always forgive us; You always love us and we are so humbled. Our prayer is that You live in us and that we live in You. That your roots grow ever deeper into us and ours, ever deeper into You. That we abide ever more closely with You. We lay down our lives for You, dear friend, and pray that in us You find loyal and loving servants. Amen

Prayer of Adoration:

Hub of the universe, from whom all things have life and purpose, around whom all things move and turn, we look towards you – centre and source – to acknowledge you and adore.  Like a magnet you draw our gaze to your mystery, showing us what we need to see, but shading our sight from the blinding light – reminding us that you are more than we can ever imagine and our words can never hold you.
So we close our lips and silently reach for you.

Gentle, copious lap to which we run and snuggle down to feel again the loving touch and know again the touching love which calms and strengthens mind and will, so we can live and love again.  You are more than we need and our needs will never drain you.
So we open our hands and silently reach for you.

Yours is a voice of love, speaking perfect truth, confiding, tuned to our vibration, singing to our darkness and composing anew our nature into music of the light – overflowing to a world playing a different tune – not yet in full harmony.
So we open our ears and silently reach for you – God.
