prayer

“Tries hard but could do better”, might be the report summary of LMC’s prayer life. We know that prayer is important but we are learners of its ways.

On Sundays there are always times of prayer that express praise, worship and thanksgiving. Many of our favourite hymns and songs are words directed to God and these feel like “a prayer sung that is prayed twice”.

Within the Weekly notices there are many requests for intercessory prayer. These are remembered in private devotions at home and during the weekly prayer meeting on Wednesday @ 9.00am.

If you have prayer requests that you would like included please email them to administrator@loughtonmethodist.org.uk

In September every worshipper is offered two prayer resources. One is the Prayer Handbook produced by the national Methodist Church. This much loved handbook is a treasury of prayers from around the world and throughout the ages. The other is the Church Directory which is divided into 30 sections, one for each day of the month. That way we pray for each person in the church on a regular basis.

Our experience is simply that when we do pray then God’s grace abounds. Conversely the truth applies. We would be very grateful if you might occasionally remember us in your prayer so that,

“If my people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile again”. II Chronicles 7:14.

This video gives a short view of what prayer is.
