Who are we?

LifeWorks Creative Arts Centre is passionate about the creative arts and the local community. With an interdisciplinary focus on the arts, we aim to support local artists, share our artistic resources, and to encourage the local community to engage with the Creative Arts in new and innovative ways.

What we do:

Visual Arts

LifeWorks holds annual local art exhibitions, and an annual Creative Arts Festival (Creative Loughton). We are one of the main organisers and anchor venues for the semi-annual Loughton Art Trail. As this was cancelled this year, LifeWorks has built this website showcasing artwork by local artists.

Community Partnerships

We work closely and collaboratively with local organisations and partners to encourage community engagement with the Creative Arts. We provide arts resources, networks for professional artists, and arts workshops for local schools, charities and other organisations.

Please do visit Sculpture Club‘s website to find out how you can start creating and/or have your art supported by local artists in our area.

LifeWorks Performance

We facilitate and host dramatic, dance and music productions. We have also produced plays and musicals and are currently producing a new musical – Nehemiah the Musical. Our Creative Arts team writes, directs and produces drama pieces for local initiatives and also partners with other theatre practitioners to produce and create drama theatre pieces. We hold theatre workshops and classes for people of all ages (including after school drama programmes), and provide arts resources and workshops for local schools, charities and other organisations.

Christian Drama Resource Centre

The LifeWorks building is also the home of the CDRC. This is an organisation that hires biblical, historical and theatrical costumes to adults and children to help productions come to life.
