discipleship

The New Testament says that Jesus called his followers to be disciples. That required them living a ‘disciplined life’ and following him in a living, risky relationship. Through the Spirit, we too are invited to follow Christ. The five marks of ‘Our Calling’ is a summary of what that means for us.

The preaching at LMC aims to be punchy, relevant and engaged with real issues. Many members also want to explore what that means within smaller settings where questions, doubts and certainties can be expressed. There are nine groups that meet during the week in people’s homes as a way of deepening faith.

In partnership with the Baptist Church we also run Alpha courses at a local Café for those who are enquiring and exploring the Christian life. Sharing faith is an essential part of being a follower of Christ and we find evangelism often grows from natural relationships.

Our Calling: Every member of the Methodist Church is called to a life of Worship, Service, Learning, Caring and Evangelism.
