community
The most obvious feature of LMC is that it is active seven days a week. When the current church building was opened in 1987 the aim was to offer excellent facilities. We now host a wealth of community activities and on average 1,200-1,500 visits are made to the site every week. Wesley's Café is open six days a week and is a real community hub.
We will do all in our power to foster meaningful relationships of trust that lie at the heart of a healthy community. In so doing we want to mirror Jesus’ diverse disciples. We also want to reflect the diversity and unity of God that we see in the Trinity.
The congregation deliberately supports the minister investing time and energy within the community. With Chloe, the Children and Community Worker, he regularly visits ten local schools taking assemblies and classes. Schools also regularly visit the church for services and education.
Wesley’s Café: A fair trade Cafe run by the church for the community six days a week. It is great place to call in and have a Cappuccino, cup of tea or a muffin. A pre-school play area is provided.
CDRC: The Christian Drama Resource Centre is a charity that supports scores of community groups with story telling and the loan of theatrical. Advanced plans are in place to build a £500,000 home and Arts Centre for CRDC at the church.
Schools Work: Over many years LMC have established close friendships with the local schools. With other churches in Loughton we take a keen interest in their well being.
