JMA (Junior Mission for All)

JMA Logo JMA is part of the Methodist Church presence in the World Church and Mission Education. It encourages children in The Methodist Church to “learn, pray and serve with the world-wide Church of Jesus Christ”, educating them about mission both in Britain and abroad. Money raised by JMA is divided between the Fund for World Mission (four-fifths) and the Fund for Home Mission (one-fifth).

JMA began within the Methodist Church as early as 1812. The aim was to involve the children in the missionary work of the church by collecting a halfpenny every week from eight people.

Here at LMC, JMA has been an important part of the mission work of our church for many years. JMA members learn by reading the colourful JMA Rainbow magazine which they receive 3 times a year.

On a yearly basis, with the help of Church members, family and friends JMA members have been able to collect and raise in the region of £1200. The money has been raised mainly through regular donations and collecting boxes.

All the money raised makes a huge difference to the lives of others in this country and overseas. So we keep collecting, we keep praying, trusting that every year will be a successful year for JMA.

Our current JMA Secretary is Deborah Davies.
