Bosnia
LMC supports The Lighthouse Mission, in Sarajevo. This support is in the form of prayer, mission funds, and other practical support as requested by Bob and Eileen Pressler, the mission pastor and his wife.
LMC has assisted Bob and Eileen for more than 10 years, and the work of the Mission, in Sarajevo, is centred upon the support of young families, including crisis pregnancy and post-abortion advice, the support of the Roma community, which continues to be oppressed in so many areas of Europe, and the establishment and development of links with other Christian Bosnian groups, in order to help bring reconciliation to the communities in Bosnia.
The Roma Church, which meets at The Lighthouse, provides a refuge and sanctuary for this community.
Eileen’s counselling expertise, especially in crisis pregnancy and post-abortion issues, has resulted in the establishment of work not previously seen in this field, in the Bosnian language.
The link with LMC has been reinforced in recent years as Bob and Eileen have co-ordinated the distribution in the Sarajevo area of the shoe boxes from Samaritan’s Purse, some of which have actually passed through our hands in Loughton.
This has enabled Bob and Eileen to develop links and connections locally, in schools, hospitals and orphanages.
